Luke Iannuzzi Pottery was established in 2004 in Warren, VT, in the heart of the Green Mountains. “Being passionate about creating high quality tableware and art pots is what drives me in the studio. A master-level of knowledge and skill is in each piece of pottery.”
Although Luke is still comfortable with and enjoys making useful pots, he has evolved from a functional potter who dabbles in raku to a raku potter who dabbles in functional pots.
Luke explains: “From the first time I experienced the raku process, while helping a friend at a workshop, I was hooked. The immediacy of the firing and the elusiveness of the spectacular ‘flash’ had a hold on me. I learned and am still learning from each firing along with a host of great friends that lend their experience and knowledge to my art.”
Having started with the traditional metallic & crackle raku glazes that most potters are familiar with, Luke started experimenting with naked (slip resist) raku. Luke’s process is varied including horsehair raku, ferric chloride and tin foil sagar.
