Woven Works

Avon, CT

There is inherent beauty in much of what we discard. I am attracted to the shapes, colors, patinas and artistic potential of used materials and so I save them for the purpose of re-purpose. Even when I use new materials in my pieces, there is typically some component that has been recycled.

I am a fiber and mixed media artist. I find, collect and use broken street sweeper tangs to support my loom woven beadwork. I repurpose credit cards and hotel keys into collages. I up-cycle colorful papers into complex woven patterns. I encircle used objects with hand stitched beadwork and/or wrapped fiber. I weave and/or collage commercial cardboard into pop art sculptures.
